The Cantonment Board runs a school for special children, Spurthy school where around 60 children with special needs are trained in speech therapy, physiotherapy, and behavioural modification. They are groomed in life skills to help them fend for themselves, learn to get dressed, eat and drink well etc. Physiotherapy is provided to help in strengthening, stretching, and using limbs and digits with improved dexterity.
